St George's Nursing Home in Witham is now part of Outlook Care
A welcome from our Chief Executive
I am delighted to confirm that the first phase of our refurbishment, post-acquisition in October 2022, at St George's Nursing Home, Witham is nearing completion. Our team has delivered fantastic results in transforming the communal areas enjoyed by our residents, and we have now begun posting some images to the Gallerypage on this website. This will be updated as we progress. In addition to these resident experience enhancing changes, we have delivered many other improvements to the environment including a full kitchen renovation, and have begun the process of refurbishing each bedroom.
I am very proud that we have been able to implement all of these improvements whilst continuing to deliver quality, person centred care to every resident living at St George's Nursing Home. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the families and their loved ones who reside at St George's.
I thank them for their patience and understanding during this time. I would also thank our wonderful staff who have continued to provide the care and support that our residents deserve.

About St George's Nursing Home, Witham
St George's Nursing Home in Witham provides residential and nursing care, and specialises in high dependency, intermediate and long-term palliative care and end of life care.
Our philosophy is to provide our residents with a relaxed and comfortable home in which their nursing care needs, well-being and choice are of prime importance. We achieve this by putting our residents at the centre of all decisions about their lives and by encouraging them to exercise their rights in all aspects of their care.
We strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring environment that is both safe and comfortable.
These are our residents' homes, we trust that they and their families will treat them as such and that our positive, homely and stimulating atmosphere is conducive to a quality of life for every resident.
St George's Nursing Home offers well-appointed bedrooms which have been decorated to a high standard. There is a range of single and companion rooms, many with en suite facilities. Also several ground floor rooms have patio doors leading onto individual terraces. All bedrooms have Nurse Call, Television, Telephone point and internet facility.
All bathrooms are fitted to ensure a comfortable and refreshing bathing experience within a relaxing environment. There is also a wet room for those who prefer a shower.
There are lounges on the ground floor and first floor. The ground floor lounge is also used for activities, while upstairs there is a large flat screen television and a music centre. The large dining room looks out onto the Courtyard. To the rear of the Home is a landscaped garden with raised beds and a small greenhouse, which residents are welcome to get involved with should they wish.
We promote and encourage the independence of our residents, supporting them to live fulfilled and stimulated lives. We have a full time Activities Manager who is widely praised for the range of therapeutic and leisure activities provided, such as arts and crafts, baking afternoons, gardening club and Poetry groups. Outside entertainers often visit the home, plus we hold our own themed days.
During the summer months we arrange outings to local places of interest and sometimes a drive out for a cup of tea and cake or a fish and chip supper on the prom at Maldon. All residents who have a special interest or hobby are encouraged and if practicable facilitated to enable them to continue. We have a visiting Hairdresser, Chiropodist, Dentist and Optician and we hold regular Religious Services.
Every month a Social Calendar is delivered to each resident with a planned programme of events and activities. A regular News Letter is also produced.
We are mindful that COVID is circulating again, so kindly ask all visitors to familiarise themselves with below, and be prepared for any temporary measures that we may need to introduce.
